Get rid of your leaf and yard waste for free during this special collection.

• Leaf and yard waste must be packaged in paper bags or in reusable containers and placed at the curbside by 7:00a.m.
• Plastic bags are not accepted.
• Bundle and tie branches; branches should not be longer than 4 feet, 2 inches in diameter.
• Grass clippings are accepted.

You can also bring your leaf and yard waste to the GFL Transfer Station for free any time of the year at 211 Corduroy Road, Vars.

A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it's up to you!

Every Saturday mornings at 9:00 AM - rain or shine.  We meet on the New York Central Fitness Trail off Concession Street. The course is along the trail between Concession Street and Eadie Road.

Please support our local Good Neighbours Food Bank and drop off your donation of non perishable goods or cash donation at Russell Foodland, Saturday June 17,2023 between 10;00am and2;00pm. Either way you will be helping to stock the shelves for the summer, a time the food bank really needs our help.

Join Park View Homes on June 17th from 1-4pm for the Grand Opening of Russell Ridge Estates. Celebrate with food, home tours, local entertainment, Father's day giveaways, & more fun for the whole family!

This event may include a Planning Advisory Committee meeting and/or a Committee of Adjustment meeting, based on items to be discussed.

The Embrun Family Centre is organising a fundraiser to provide special activities for families in the community! 

Come and support the Embrun Family Centre on June 22nd from 10:00am to 6:00pm at the Independent in Embrun!

There will be face painting for kids, balloons and visit of Emergency Service vehicule in exchange of monetary donation.

Book Launch with Local Author Phil Gurski

In WWI more than 150 men left Russell to fight on the Western Front.  This contingent had a huge impact on a village of 600-800 people: farms, businesses, social activities.  19 men never made it back and are buried in mass cemeteries in France and Belgium. Local author Phil Gurski’s new book From village to Vimy to victory tells the story of these men, the Russell they lived in, the ones who died overseas, the impact of the war locally, and their lives when they returned home.

We invite the community to an information session on Wednesday June 28^th, 2023, between 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at City Hall (717 Notre-Dame Street, Embrun).

During this time, residents can view plans of the approved 30% schematic design and ask questions to our staff and the project consultants. This is the opportunity as the future users of the Recreation Complex to learn more about this project, share your comments and have your voice heard.
